What have others done and how have they done this?
As always I love hearing how others are able to use technology to enable access to all learners (at their own pace and ability). Technology has enabled learning to so many that in previous times/ years would have been completely out of reach. The Manaiakalani approach makes learning accessible to all.
I have loved this course. I was convinced this would be well out of my league before we started but the approach to learning has made this achievable. It has made me reflect as a teacher. Which kid in my class/es is like me? Do I repeat the instructions enough for the child who switched off, for what ever reason? Am I able to make sure I cater for all learning style in my approach? It has been really good for me to be well out of my comfort zone....... to not only up skill but also to reflect on myself as a learner/Teacher.
This is the world our learners are in. They are not afraid of technology so I need to be armed with the ability to teach this, to think like this, to understand the language and to ensure that the children in my care are safe and prepared for the future as users online.
Many thanks
Theresa
Theresa,
ReplyDeleteIt's been such a pleasure having you in the group. I'm thrilled to hear that you have embraced the learning, despite feeling that it was going to be above your ability. Isn't it wonderful when we realise we are capable and that we have the skills we didn't think we had.
Your reflection on your own learning and teaching is wonderful to read. I hope you share it with your colleagues because it is a really powerful example of reflective learning.
Congratulations on finishing the DFI. Wear your badge proudly and encourage others to participate in the future.
Ngā mihi,
Sharon
